Theodore O'Hara (1820–1867) was a Kentucky poet, soldier, and journalist best known for his poem "Bivouac of the Dead," written to honor Kentuckians killed in the Mexican-American War. The poem's verses are inscribed at numerous national cemeteries across the United States. His classic work was reprinted in The Weekly Standard.
