Nat Hentoff was a legendary journalist, author, and civil liberties advocate known for his decades-long column at The Village Voice and his writings on jazz, the First Amendment, and individual rights. He contributed to numerous publications across the political spectrum and was recognized by the National Endowment for the Arts as a Jazz Master in 2004. He contributed a piece to The Weekly Standard in 2007.
