William F. Buckley, Jr, died this morning at his home in Connecticut. Our friends at National Review already have posted some poignant reflections. There will be many, many more. I didn't know him at all before I came to Washington, but I read everything he wrote. And he is one of the chief reasons that I'm a writer. This is a great hour -- William F.
