Tom Cotton is headed to Iowa. This weekend the freshman Republican senator from Arkansas will be a featured speaker at a Republican presidential candidate gathering in Boone, Iowa.
The event is being called Joni's 1st Annual Roast and Ride, which is being organized by Joni Ernst, the freshman senator from Iowa.
"As you may have heard, I am throwing a big pig roast to kick off the summer on June 6th in Boone. We are calling it a 'Roast and Ride' and it’ll be a fun filled event for the entire family," Ernst writes in an invitation to supporters.
"We are going to do a motorcycle ride in honor of our veterans and patriots, followed by a family fun pork roast. It’s going to be a great time for families to grab some barbecue, enjoy a day in the sun, and meet presidential candidates and Iowa elected officials."

A spokesman for Joni Pac, the sponsoring organization, confirmed Cotton's attendance. Tickets for the event cost $30 for adults and $12 for kids.
Additionally, the event will feature a slew of Republican presidential candidates, including Ben Carson, Carly Fiorina, Lindsey Graham, Mike Huckabee, Rick Perry, Marco Rubio, and Scott Walker.
Unlike the other main speakers, Cotton has not indicated he is running for president of the United States.
Local politicians, including Governor Branstad, Lieutenant Governor Reynolds, Senator Grassley, Congressman King, and Congressman Young, are slated to speak as well.
