We hope President Clinton wasn't offended, but it's pretty clear that some wiseacre from the DNC was trying to send a subliminally subversive message to America last Monday night. For as soon as the president had finished his rip-snorting farewell address, he was followed by a production number from the Broadway revival of The Music Man. The Music Man, of course, is the story of Professor Harold Hill, a charming conman, a mesmerizing public performer, a superlative talker, and an insatiable womanizer whose specialty is duping yokels and slipping out of tight spots. But that's where the similarities end.
