" Now, the same crowd that says they support the troops didn't support the United States getting the Olympics," MSNBC left-winger Ed Schultz said on his show last night. "What the Republicans did, I think, rivals Jane Fonda sitting on a gun in North Vietnam." Allahpundit writes: "Truly, celebrating the fact that the Daley machine will have to find another trough of taxpayer money from which to feed is precisely the same as Hanoi Jane sitting on a VC cannon and mimicking shooting down American aircraft. Thanks for confirming every last horrible conservative stereotype about MSNBC, Ed." It's been lost on many of Obama's biggest supporters that opposing bringing the Olympics boondoggle to Chicago isn't anything like wanting the American Olympics team to lose the games. And this probably makes sense, since Real Americans care about winning at sports and the Obamaphiles care about the pomp and circumstance that would have surrounded the games (especially if Obama were still in office--imagine the Shepard Fairey Obama-Olympics themed posters). But it's unbelievable to see Schultz take this completely to another level and compare supporting Rio de Janeiro's Olympics bid to supporting those were were killing American troops in Vietnam.
