Senator Schumer's off-the-shelf solution to any problem, real or merely perceived, is to form a "gang of eight" that comes up with a bipartisan fix.  As Keith Laing reports on  the Hill, Schumer appeared on Face the Nation and:

... proposed a new bipartisan “Gang of Eight” to draft a bill to create guidelines for future investigations of media leaks by the government.

The legislation, as  Andrew Ferguson makes abundantly and delightfully clear, will not do do anything to solve the problem for which Schumer believes bipartisan gang tactics are so desperately needed.

But Schumer, it seems, just can't help himself.

As he told Bob Schieffer, “I love these gangs of eight I guess.”
