This quote from the Orlando Sentinel's endorsement of John McCain irked me: "Mr. Romney's evolution in recent years from a moderate to a conservative better aligned with GOP presidential primary voters raises doubts about his core beliefs and commitment to principle." Say Romney decided to run for the Democratic presidential nomination and had flipped to more liberal positions on a host of issues. Would the Sentinel still raise questions about his "core beliefs and commitment to principle"? I somehow doubt it.
