The whole Mitt Romney/Martin Luther King thing just gets weirder and weirder. He told the Detroit Free Press: 'You know, I'm an English literature major as well. When we say, "I saw the Patriots win the World Series," it doesn't necessarily mean you were there - excuse me, the Super Bowl. I saw my dad become president of American Motors. Did that mean you were there for the ceremony? No, it's a figure of speech.'
Then there's this:
But Romney continues to elide the fact that there seems to be only one (since called into question) recorded reference to George Romney marching with Martin Luther King Jr. So Romney is saying he figuratively saw something that may not have happened at all. Watching Romney spin is like watching M.C. Escher in action. It borders on the surreal.
