New Hampshire' s WMUR followed Mayor Giuliani while he traveled throughout the Granite State yesterday. Here's the video:
When asked about threats that some social conservatives may support a third-party candidate if he becomes the GOP nominee, Giuliani notes that he draws strong support from conservatives in national polls. "Maybe it is respect for the idea that I'll be straight with you," Giuliani said. We haven't heard much about "respect conservatism" since Ross Douthat and Reihan Salam coined the term in our pages earlier this year. And yet I sense that Giuliani is aware he has an important line of argument to make once the air war begins: You may disagree with me on a few things, but you know where I stand on every thing. It's a line some other candidates may have trouble using.
