The genius of Borat was always lost on me, but these videos of Jason Mattera at the Democratic convention last week are fall-over funny. Mattera went around trying to get Democratic radicals to sign a petition to improve the quality of life for terrorist detainees. As Mattera explains to one mark, "We're bringing awareness to the torture that is going on in Guantanamo. . . . And we have a petition for not only additional medical services, and not only no torture, and they need brighter lights and stuff like that, but they need amenities like you and I have." Here, the woman nods and says, "I agree, I'll sign that." Mattera continues, "Like Cinemax. ESPN 1 and 2." "I'll sign it," the lady says. Another plank of the petition is Netflix for the jihadis. And gift certificates to Radio Shack. Classic.
