Over the past two days, Real Clear Politics (RCP) has moved four states from “Leans Obama” to “Toss Up” — Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, New Hampshire, and Michigan. RCP now rates all nine key swing states (Fla., Ohio, Va., Colo., Iowa, N.H., Pa., Wis., and Nev.) as toss-ups.
It also rates Michigan (a must-win state for President Obama) and North Carolina and Missouri (must-win states for Mitt Romney) as toss-ups, resulting in 12 toss-up states in all. Nationally, RCP has Romney — who this week is outspending Obama on TV ads for the first time — up 1 point (47.3 to 46.3 percent).
