Rational vs. Irrational

From a New York Times editorial today:

With sardonic resignation, President Obama, an eminently rational man, stared directly into political irrationality on Wednesday and released his birth certificate to history.

And from a New York Times editorial, referring to President George W. Bush, dated June 15, 2005:

A result is that Bush seems increasingly isolated and his rhetoric of denial increasingly irrational.
