Although Obama pledged in an interview with Military Times to "spend more to improve veterans' health care and reduce the wait for a disability claim to be processed, ... Obama said he did not want to be more specific because he did not want to make promises he might not be able to keep." This comment is especially disingenuous given how specific he's been in making promises to so many other groups of people. But it shows where soldiers are on Obama's list of priorities that he wishes to remain vague about how to improve military benefits. HT: Abe Greenwald
