Gallup is out with a new poll showing a modest increase in Sarah Palin's favorability rating, from 40 to 44 percent. That's within the maximum margin of error, according to Gallup. The Gallup results track with those of a recent CNN poll. To compare, the public still views Obama more favorably than Palin. Obama's personal rating always polls ahead of his job approval, which is sinking. The book tour and the changing political landscape have helped Palin recover some lost ground. But she still faces challenges if she wants to prove to independent voters that she's up to high office. Meanwhile, the Palins are enjoying a vacation in the president's home state.
