President Obama will make a rare appearance in the White House press briefing room today where he'll do something even more unusual: take questions from the press.

The White House just announced this scheduling change:

UPDATED: In the morning, the President will take questions in the Brady Press Briefing Room. The President’s remarks are open press. EDT 10:15AM        THE PRESIDENT takes questions from White House reporters                         Brady Press Briefing Room                         Open Press Briefing Schedule Press Secretary Jay Carney will no longer hold a press briefing today.

Obama met the press for dinner over the weekend at the White House Correspondents Dinner.
UPDATE: White House reporter Glenn Thrush reports the press conference is a "Rigged game":

The reason the WH waits til last minute to announce a presser is cos reporters who get questions have already been tipped off. Rigged game.
