President Obama is responding to the Republican presidential debate by asking Democrats to give his party money.
"[I]t's more clear than ever that we need to make sure the next person who holds this office shares the values and vision that we believe in," Obama says in an email to Democrats.
"That means we have to elect a Democrat -- so pitch in $3 or more tonight."
