A new NBC/Wall Street Journal poll shows Hillary Clinton clobbering Donald Trump 51 percent to 38 percent in a general election. But Clinton leads Ted Cruz by just 2 points (47 percent to 45 percent) and is tied with Marco Rubio at 46 percent each.

In a new ABC/Washington Post poll, Clinton leads Trump by 9 points among registered voters (50 percent to 41 percent). Among all Americans, Clinton leads Trump by 18 points (54 percent to 36 percent). Nearly 62 percent of Americans have an unfavorable view of Trump in an average of recent polls.

"If I win and if I get to go against Hillary, polls are showing that I beat her," Trump said at his Tuesday night press conference in Florida. "Some of the polls had me beating her very easily."

"We will take many, many people away from the Democrats," Trump added. "We'll take many, many people away that normally go Democrat as independents."
