Food for thought: We've all heard before that senators don't make good presidential candidates. Think Kerry, Dole, and McGovern (not to mention those who didn't make it past the primaries like Joe Biden, Ted Kennedy, John Glenn). Governors tend to do much better (Bush, Clinton, Reagan). In fact, as is often pointed out, the last time Americans elected a sitting senator as president of the United States was John F. Kennedy in 1960. But now, 48 years later, and with Mitt Romney out, we will without a doubt be electing another sitting senator. Or Governor Huckabee.
