Andrew Ferguson has a fantastic essay on the insanity of the college admission process, which reminds me of one of Hillary Clinton's most appealing campaign lines: Whenever she talks about making college easier and more affordable for the middle class, she promises to do away with the FAFSA, or "Free Application for Federal Student Aid." She doesn't say what she'd replace it with, but that hardly matters. I suspect that the banishment of the FAFSA would rival the creation of the Do Not Call List in terms of public appeal.
