You may have noticed that liberals are constantly accusing conservatives of questioning liberal patriotism. This was especially the case when George W. Bush was president and politics centered on the war on terrorism. In truth, it's rare for conservatives to explicitly question their opponents' love of country--something they shouldn't do, anyway! It cheapens discourse.

Speaking of cheap discourse, here's New York Times columnist Frank Rich yesterday: "John McCain epitomizes the unpatriotic opposition." Yeah, that John McCain.

Add it to the list of liberals smearing the loyal opposition as unpatriotic or un-American.
