The Minnesota state board of education has voted 5-3 to kill proposed statewide "diversity rules" that would have cut off funding to school districts that failed to implement an Orwellian scheme dreamed up by educrats in Minneapolis. As reported a couple of months ago on this page, schools would have been required to measure their progress towards a "multicultural, gender fair, and disability aware" Utopia.

The plan, which would have led to rampant politicization of the curriculum in public schools, was six years in the works. It was derailed in just three months, thanks to a bit of old-fashioned muckraking by columnist Katherine Kersten in the Minneapolis Star Tribune. To paraphrase Kojak, sometimes it's a good day for the good guys.
