This is weak stuff, but it is Washington, and considering that the federal government is the only thing that keeps the District from reverting to the uninhabited swamp it once was, not terribly surprising. They don't want to pay for Cold War weapons systems, boo hoo. I don't want to pay for anything but the water bill at Gitmo, but the government doesn't let you check the box that says this money is exclusively for killing and interrogating bad guys--and building roads. Oh, and thanks for the mandate, Mitt. I still have no idea what my health care provider's federal identification number is, so I still can't file my state taxes. You'd think that part of mandating health care would involve mandating that the providers provide the info you need to fill out your taxes. You'd be wrong. And then you'd be disinclined to support Romney for alderman let alone vice president.
