President Obama will hold his first press conference as commander in chief (you can watch the streaming video here) at 8 o'clock tonight. As a candidate, Obama used his massive warchest to purchase airtime on all three networks, preempting the World Series (or at least the pre-game show). Now, as president, Obama can command the airwaves at no cost -- at least to himself. For those of us who will be waiting to watch 24 at 9 o'clock sharp, there is a very real fear that Obama will, in the course of so many nuanced and long-winded answers, preempt the one hour of television that allows us to escape the horrors of the Obama administration for a world in which terrorists are tortured without hesitation.
