Greg Sargent notes that leaders of the House progressive caucus sent a letter to Kathleen Sebelius last night to remind her that "60 Members of Congress ... are firm in their position that any legislation that moves forward through both chambers, and into a final proposal for the president's signature, MUST contain a public option."
The letter, first sent to the Democratic House leadership by 57 Democrats on July 30, declared: "we simply cannot vote for" a "bill that does not provide, at a minimum, for a public option with reimbursement rates based on Medicare rates ... "
The progressive caucus has apparently gotten three more Democrats to sign on since then.
